A city on sewer, ringed by county on septic

Terre Haute is by a wide margin the biggest place in our service area, roughly 58,000 people and the seat of Vigo County. That size changes what the work looks like compared with the small Parke County towns north of here, in one specific way: inside the city, most property is on municipal sewer, so almost none of our septic work happens downtown.

The septic work in Vigo County is in the ring around the city. Properties out toward Riley, Pimento, West Terre Haute, Seelyville, Prairie Creek and the unincorporated stretches along the Wabash all run on private on-site systems, and those are the calls we take. Terre Haute's event calendar is genuinely busy. The Banks of the Wabash Festival has run since 1974 and is the city's signature event. Wabash Riverfest brings people to the river itself with canoe races and outdoor programming. The Wabash Valley Pepper Fest and Hot Sauce Expo runs a full day at the Meadows Shopping Center. Between those and the smaller church, school and neighborhood events, outdoor gatherings in Vigo County run most of the warm months.

Outdoor events on public ground and in parking lots have a specific requirement small-town field events do not: hard-surface placement and clear access lanes for emergency vehicles. Units on asphalt need to be positioned so they cannot block a fire lane, which is worth working out with us before delivery day rather than on it.

Vigo County has consistently more construction activity than the rural counties north of it, and construction is where our restroom work in Terre Haute concentrates.
